Terms of Service

1. Service Description

Startis is an AI-powered product intelligence platform that helps teams analyze user feedback, codebase activity, and product analytics to surface prioritized opportunities. The service connects to third-party tools you authorize and uses AI to extract insights from your data.

2. Account Terms

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. One person or legal entity may not maintain more than one account.

You must be at least 18 years old to use this service.

3. Third-Party Integrations

When you connect a third-party service (such as GitHub, Slack, Linear, Intercom, or PostHog), you authorize Startis to access and process data from that service as described in the integration consent screen shown before each connection.

You represent that you have the authority to grant access to the third-party accounts you connect. If you are connecting a workspace or organization account, you confirm you have permission from the account owner or administrator.

All integration credentials are encrypted at rest using AES-256. GitHub access uses granular permissions (read code, read/create issues) rather than broad repository scopes. You can disconnect any integration at any time, which revokes our access to that service.

4. Data Processing

Startis uses AI services (Anthropic Claude) to analyze data from your connected integrations. This processing includes extracting feedback themes, pain points, feature requests, and sentiment from messages, conversations, and code.

Extracted insights are stored in your account. Raw data from integrations may be processed transiently but is not stored beyond the extracted results, except for source references (timestamps, URLs, and content snippets used as evidence).

5. Acceptable Use

You may not: reverse-engineer or attempt to extract source code from the service; use the service to violate any law or infringe any rights; share your account credentials with others; or use the service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it.

6. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Account deletion removes all your data, disconnects all integrations, and cancels any active subscriptions.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where reasonably possible.

7. Limitation of Liability

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Startis is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including any data loss or unauthorized access to your connected third-party accounts.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or through the service. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
